In July, I will be part of a team heading to northern India. We will be with Orphan Outreach and two staff members from WCSG Radio.  We will fly into New Delhi. After resting for a few hours, we will  fly to an orphanage and school near the city of Manali in the state of Himachal Pradesh located in the Himalayan Mountains. While we are there we will play games, do crafts, sing songs, cook dinners, share devotional time and have a movie/popcorn night with the 76 children who live in the House of Grace Children's Home.

Our next stop will be back in New Delhi. God has called a man there to set up a school in a northern slum of the city and one in a southern slum. We will meet the children served by these schools and visit the garbage dumps where many are rag pickers. This means that they look for food and items to recycle to help support their families. Rag picking is their daily chore, so school is a luxury. We will set up a tent to play games, do crafts and have devotions with them too.

We will each bring a suitcase filled with recreational items, craft supplies and hygiene items to give to the children in each location.

We will also have a sightseeing day to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.

For me, this is much more than an adventure. I have been asking God to teach me to love people as He loves. I know this trip is part of the answer to my prayer.

I am looking forward to blogging the details of our trip and what I learn. It is my hope and prayer that you will join me on this journey and that somehow you can grow in your own understanding of God and His love for all people.

Check for updates before July. As I learn new details, and as we prepare as a team I will add to this blog.
